Located on the Mediterranean coast Kalkan gets 300 days of sunshine a year. Due to Its location just between Fethiye and Kaş, It is a great stop for gulet sailing turkey. The town hosts a large British Expat community and luxurious villas that fill the hillside town. Our Traditional Turkish Gulets dock in the Kalkan harbor for an hour or two while our passengers explore the town and have some nice cocktails just before we continue cruising towards Kaş or Fethiye. In Ancient times Kalkan was a small Greek fishing village, later it became famous for its whitewashed houses on the hilltop overlooking the bay, the picturesque marina still has the charm of the old village.
Kalkan has an abundance of Hotels and countless top-quality restaurants, serving delicious Mediterranean dishes as well as international cuisine. Bars generally open in the evening when the heat of the day has gone and pleasant weather hovers over the town. Kalkan has also a fantastic location for exploring neighboring towns and offers a variety of water sports.
Kaputas Beach is located only 7 kilometers from Kalkan, where a narrow valley runs below steep cliffs and thick forests join to meet the shore. A highway bridge crosses the gorge and below it lays an incredible cove and a White sandy beach, only accessible by over a hundred stairs. The beach is popular for its untouched beauty. There are also bars and a small restaurant at Kaputaş beach selling food and refreshments during the day.
