The Ultimate Packing List for Turkey Sailing Trip
Last Updated: January 27, 2026 | Essential Prep & Packing Guide
Planning a maritime adventure is exciting, but knowing what to bring is the key to a stress-free experience. If you are preparing to Turkey boat tours in the upcoming 2026 season, remember that life on a boat is all about "less is more." Space is limited, and the vibe is casual.
Here is our expert-curated packing list to ensure you have everything you need for your journey along the Turkish Riviera.
1. The Right Bag: Soft is Best
Avoid hard-shell suitcases. They are difficult to store in boat cabins. A soft duffel bag or a foldable backpack is ideal because it can be easily tucked away once you've unpacked.
2. Clothing: Casual and Breathable
The Mediterranean sun is powerful. Focus on light fabrics like linen and cotton.
Swimwear: Bring at least 2-3 sets so you always have a dry one.
Light Layers: Even in summer, evenings on the water can get breezy. A light sweater or windbreaker is essential.
Casual Chic: For dinners at harbor towns while exploring Turkish sailing routes, a few smart-casual outfits are perfect.
3. Footwear: Safety First
On Deck: Most gulets have a "no shoes" policy to protect the wooden decks. You will mostly be barefoot or wearing clean boat socks.
Off the Boat: Bring sturdy sandals or walking shoes for visiting ancient ruins and exploring coastal villages.

4. Sun Protection and Toiletries
Don't underestimate the Aegean sun.
Sunscreen: High SPF and reef-safe options are preferred to support sustainable travel in Turkey.
Hat and Sunglasses: Make sure they have a strap; the wind loves to take them!
Personal Meds: While we have first aid kits, bring your own sea-sickness tablets and personal prescriptions.
5. Tech and Extras
Power Bank: Although our private yacht rentals in Turkey have charging stations, a portable charger is handy for long days on shore.
Dry Bag: Essential for keeping your phone and camera safe during dinghy rides to the beach.
Books or E-readers: For those quiet moments anchored in a turquoise bay.
6. Essential Documents
Keep your passport, insurance details, and booking vouchers in a waterproof folder. Having digital copies on your phone is also a smart move for your Turkish sailing holiday.
